KM Project Manager

Job Description

This position will involve direct interaction with customer teams to build and maintain Knowledge Management (KM) applications. Responsibilities will include working with customer subject matter experts to identify and design optimum structures for KM domain models. Additionally, the KM project manager will work with customers to define business processes and identify personnel needed to implement and support KM systems. Responsibilities will also include configuration of KM applications to support required process workflows and their users. Finally the KM manager must work with customer IT teams to define optimum integration methods with existing business information systems. This work includes defining necessary software requirements, then interacting with a development team to create the required integration code. The KM manager will also be responsible for tracking the progress of the integration code development efforts relative to overall project progress.

Skills Required

Primarily this work requires interaction with customers to implement knowledge management / knowledge base systems for business applications. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with multiple customer groups, and guide software system implementation and integration. Portions of the work will require knowledge of business software systems, such as databases, user management systems (LDAP) and typical customer interaction systems such as CRM and ticketing systems.

Experience with current commercial KM packages such as Kaidara, Oracle KM, InQuira, or Consona (formally Knova) will be advantageous. Experience with the Kaidara Advisor system is most desirable, with an overall understanding of how the above tools are used within call-center environments being key responsibilities of this position.

Additionally, a fundamental understanding of object oriented programming and web applications will be very useful; however detailed technical application coding is not required, as there are resources available to support these detailed coding efforts.

General Requirements

Travel to customer sites is required.
